Be part of Progressive Retinal Atrophy Research!

by Sue PK, President
(OptiGen, LLC in USA)

PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) is an inherited disorder that causes blindness in dogs. OptiGen is actively seeking samples from Miniature Schnauzers in the USA that have been diagnosed with PRA by a veterinary ophthalmologist.

We are working on identifying the other causes of PRA in the breed besides the Type A PRA as part of our Research program (http://www.optigen.com/opt9_research.html).

Samples from PRA-affected Miniature Schnauzers will be DNA tested for Type A PRA at no charge and included in this study. If you know of any PRA-affected Miniature Schnauzers, please encourage the owners to contact me at OptiGen.

Email: suepk@optigen.com or by phone 607 257-0301

Thank you,
Sue PK
