Jessie and Jet's Babies, DOB 24 August 2010
On 24 August 2010 Jessie had 4 babies - two black boys, and a pepper and salt boy and girl. Her and her puppies are in great shape, healthy and hearty.
Here are Jessie and her babies at 10 days old. Their eyes have opened and they have grown nice and chubby!

Gypsy's Litter DOB 13 February 2010
This is Gypsy's litter and she had 7 babies - 3 girls and 4 boys; 5 black, 1 pepper and salt, and 1 black and silver.
In this video they are just 2 days old; all doing well and gaining weight. Tomorrow is dew-claw removal day (ouch!).
Their daddy is our gorgeous new boy "Jet".
They will be ready to go to their new families on 10 April 2010.

Their eyes haven't opened yet but will do so very soon. Notice how they use their sense of smell to find the "milk bar" when Gypsy goes in to feed them!

As you can see, quite a lot happens when the pups reach 3 weeks of age. They get their first experience of bathing and clipping (we trim their bottoms). They also are moved from the whelping box into their puppy pen.
At half the size of the others, the little salt and pepper puppy is the classic runt of the litter. At this stage she has a tough time competing with her littermates for a good spot at the milk bar but is strong and holding her own. In another week I will be introducing the puppies to solid food, and she will no longer have to compete for a good feed!
Here they are again, at 5 weeks of age:
The puppies were introduced to solid food a week ago, and we have started limiting their access to their mum to begin the gradual process of weaning. As you can see they have changed a lot in just a couple of weeks, becoming increasingly active and a lot more sociable - playing, barking and wagging their tails. As part of their very important socialization, they spend time every day interacting outside with their human and doggy families.
