Rescue Schnauzer's Mama

by Mary
(Port Orchard WA USA)

My black and gray Molly and my silver (the vet said he's too pretty a color to call gray and that we would hereafter refer to him as 'the silver fox' )Hugo have taken over my house. They know a good thing when they see it and you'd think they would be appreciative but they tend to always "push the envelope".
Both of my three year olds are "rescues" that I took to place, oh, about a year ago give or take. Of course they'll have to outlive me to go anywhere else now. I always had collies and was totally unprepared for these little gremlins. What personalities! As I am 71 and arthritic and they need exercise to keep them from eating my household furnishings, I purchased an adult tricycle to take them out with. With a jury rigged brace lead and short leash we get going WAAYYY faster than I want to! I've had the brakes replaced twice on my year old trike. I tell everyone we meet that we're training to be the first schnauzer team in the iditarod.
If I could keep up with them we could probably be contenders too, but I'm always out of breath from shouting "Molly...slow down ! Hugo...take it easy".
Now everyone who is out walking makes us stop so they can be jumped on with muddy feet and get an enthusiastic licking. Sadly they don't have a manner between them. Most of walkers, including one former dog hater now regularly carry treats !
I have several very entertaining tales to tell, so keep tuned to this station for The Tale of Molly's Semi-Live Rat, or Hugo and the Newfoundland Fracas, etc.
If you're interested let me know and I will type on.

MEG: We'd all love to hear more, and a photo or 2 would also be wonderful!
